FIRST DANCE

After the excitement of your Grand Entrance, you’ll make your way to the dance floor for your first official dance as a married couple.

This is one of the most meaningful moments of the evening. The room quiets, all eyes turn toward you, and for a few minutes the celebration slows down so everyone can witness the beginning of your marriage.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, for their first dance as husband and wife… Mr. & Mrs. ______.”

Here are a few things to consider

1. Take your time

There is absolutely no rush during your first dance.

Some couples dance for the entire song, others prefer a shorter moment before inviting guests to join them on the floor. Either option works beautifully. The most important thing is that the moment feels natural and comfortable for you.

2. Custom edits are always an option
If you love a song but don’t want to dance for the full length, I’m happy to create a custom abbreviated edit that highlights the most meaningful parts of the track.
Many couples choose to shorten their song to around 3 minutes, which keeps the moment impactful while maintaining the energy of the evening.

3. A little practice goes a long way.
You don’t need to be professional dancers to have a great first dance. Even a small amount of practice beforehand can make the moment feel much more relaxed and enjoyable. When couples feel comfortable with a few simple movements, they’re able to focus on the moment instead of worrying about what to do next.

4. Want something more choreographed?
If you’d like to create something a bit more polished, there are excellent online choreography resources that can help you build a simple routine step by step.
One great option is Wedding Dance School, which offers a wide range of guided first-dance routines designed specifically for couples.

Your first dance should feel authentic, relaxed, and uniquely yours.
However you choose to do it, we’ll make sure the moment feels special and flows perfectly into the rest of the celebration.
